As the sun shines and the January freeze bites at our noses, we’re celebrating ten amazing years at the Kearsarge Food Hub!

From our humble beginnings at Sweet Beet Farm Stand, our journey has been fueled by the unwavering support of our loving community, passionate supporters, and dedicated team.

Together, we’ve made an astounding impact on key areas that directly affect neighbors in our community, from access to fresh food, to farm and food education for all ages, to fostering lasting connections within our community.

Reflecting on a Decade of Commitment

It’s hard to believe it’s been a decade of service; it feels like just yesterday we were breaking ground at our first little farm plot on Greenhouse Lane, turning an empty field into a vibrant growing space, building a farm stand, and beginning this incredible journey of growing and sharing local food with you.

Sweet Beet Farm Stand opened for business on July 4th, 2015! This was the first Kearsarge Food Hub venture.

Over the past ten years, we’ve served thousands of families, supported local farmers, and graduated from that little seasonal farm stand to a year-round local food haven, creating a welcoming space for everyone in Sweet Beet Market and Café. From our first community outreach initiatives to the robust food distribution programs we have today, our mission since day one has been to ensure that everyone has access to healthy, nutritious food.

We’ve grown so much together over the years, and we’ll be celebrating this tremendous ten year milestone with you in many ways in the months ahead. The first stop on the celebration train is launching our first-ever Customer Loyalty Program at Sweet Beet Market + Café!

The truth is, we would not be where we are today without YOU—our amazing community of shoppers and diners who’ve been with us every step of the way.

Your patronage of the Market and Café gets you more than the tastiest, highest quality local food; it supports the local food system and all the humans who make it possible, builds a community of care where everyone is nourished, and contributes to a food secure future here in the Kearsarge Region.

When you choose to shop with us, you’re sending dollars directly into the pockets of 150+ local and regional food vendors, while helping to increase food access for more neighbors through an ongoing discount program for military, seniors, and career farmers, and a dynamic food donations program that channels fresh local food to our Community FREEdge and food pantry partners, reaching 4,100 individuals annually.
